Assam, on the other hand, demonstrated something entirely different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The BJP is no longer expanding experimentally in the Northeast. It is entrenched there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Himanta Biswa Sarma\u2019s emphatic victory confirms the BJP\u2019s transformation from outsider force into dominant regional establishment across large parts of the Northeast. Welfare delivery, calibrated identity politics, organizational consolidation, and leadership personalization have together produced one of the BJP\u2019s most successful regional governance models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taken together, the five-state verdict reveals three defining realities about India in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First, no regional fortress is safe anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bengal has fallen. Tamil Nadu\u2019s old order has fractured. Kerala\u2019s ideological certainty has weakened. Political permanence is disappearing rapidly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
