In December 2025, Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose to Rs. 1.75 lakh crore, sharp rise of 6.1% from December 2024 figure pegged at Rs. 1,64,556 crore.
According to Government sources, the 6-fold jump in GST collections is largely attributed to increasing import revenues and steady domestic business.
On a year-to-date basis (April-December 2025), gross collections rose to Rs 16,50,039 crore, marking a strong 8.6% annual growth.
The Q3 April-December 2025 gross GST collections improved to Rs. 16,50,039 crore, pushing the annual growth rate to 8.6%.
For December 2025, the Net-GST revenue of Rs 1,45,570 crore, two times better than last year. The net revenue reached Rs 14,25,006 crore between April-December 2025, maintaining an annual growth rate of 6.8%.
The total refunds stood at Rs 28,980 crore, a significant year-on-year movement upwards at 30.9% with domestic refunds surged to 62.0%, while export refunds saw a slight decline of 1.9%.
Arunachal Pradesh (7%), Manipur (8%), Meghalaya (8%), and Assam (5%) registered positive post-settlement revenues, while declines were seen in Jammu and Kashmir (-8%), Punjab (-4%), and Ladakh (-25%).
