NEW DELHI, June 6, 2026 /debcubspark.com-DigiTIMES./ — Marking the spirit of World Environment Day 2026, observed globally on 5 June with a renewed focus on climate action and sustainable living, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in collaboration with India Habitat Centre (IHC), is launching the TERI–IHC Lecture Series, a monthly public dialogue platform bringing together leading policymakers, diplomats, scientists, industry voices, and thought leaders to deliberate on the defining sustainability and development challenges of our times.
Beginning in June 2026, the lecture series will cover a wide range of themes including climate geopolitics, decentralized energy transitions, agrivoltaics, clean air, Mission LiFE, green fertilizers, and collaborative airshed management among others.
On this initiative, Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI highlighted, “At a time when climate concerns are deeply intertwined with economic resilience, geopolitics, and human well-being, there is a growing need for informed and inclusive public conversations. Through the TERI–IHC Lecture Series, we hope to create a sustained platform for dialogue that connects science, policy, and society while inspiring collaborative climate action.”
The initiative has been conceptualized by Dr Ritu Mathur, Senior Fellow & Director, Energy Assessment & Modelling, TERI and Dr Amit Kumar Thakur, Head, CSR & Associate Director, Social Transformation & CSR, TERI with the objective of creating an accessible knowledge platform that encourages evidence-based dialogue and wider public participation on sustainability issues.
Dr Ritu Mathur, Senior Fellow & Director, Energy Assessment & Modelling, TERI, shared, “The lecture series has been envisioned as a multidisciplinary space where diverse perspectives can come together to deliberate on emerging sustainability challenges and opportunities. We hope these conversations will contribute meaningfully to public understanding and policy discourse.”
On the importance of the lecture series, Dr Amit Kumar Thakur, Head, CSR & Associate Director, Social Transformation & CSR, TERI, shared, “As sustainability transitions accelerate globally, it is important to democratize conversations around energy, climate, and development. This series seeks to bridge expert insights with public engagement and encourage greater participation in shaping resilient futures.”
The sessions will be free and open to all, with TERI and IHC jointly promoting the initiative. Each session will include a brief thematic presentation followed by a panel discussion and audience interaction.
