The 2nd edition of Ride Asia EV 2026, organised by World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) in collaboration with Udan Media Communications Pvt. Ltd. (UMPCL), commenced today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Recognised as one of Asia’s most dynamic platforms for electric mobility, UMPCL’s flagship expo Ride Asia EV Expo 2026 hosted over 100+ EV and component manufactures, innovators, retailers & distributors.
The two-day conference themed “E-vehicles, E-vehicle Parts & Charging Technology” began with lamp lightening and inaugural address by G.S. Dhillion, MD UMPCL.
In his opening remarks, Vijay Kumar, Director General of WASME, highlighted the growing momentum of India’s EV ecosystem and the role of such platforms in accelerating innovation, collaboration, and market expansion.
A key highlight of Day 1 was a panel discussion on “Mobility in Viksit Bharat—Electrification, Sustainability and Scale.” The session was moderated by Abhijeet Sinha, National Program Director for Ease of Doing Business.
Sinha emphasised the importance of policy alignment, infrastructure readiness, and industry innovation in achieving large-scale electrified mobility as part of India’s Viksit Bharat vision. He also drew attention to emerging EV opportunities and the National Highway for Electric Vehicles (NHEV), which received strong appreciation from industry stakeholders at the event.

Ride Asia EV 2026: Day 2 Focuses on Sustainable Urban Mobility and EV Ecosystem Growth
The second day of the 2nd edition of Ride Asia EV 2026 continued to spotlight India’s accelerating transition towards electric mobility, with a high-level international conference on “E-vehicles, E-vehicle Parts & Charging Technology” held at Bharat Mandapam.
Organised by World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises in collaboration with Udan Media Communications Pvt. Ltd., the conference brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and global experts to deliberate on the future of mobility and sustainable urban transformation.
Leadership Sets the Tone
The session commenced with a welcome address by Kapil Manoj, Vice President of Udan Media Communications Pvt. Ltd., who underscored the growing importance of collaborative platforms in accelerating EV adoption.
Opening remarks were delivered by Vijay Kumar, Director General of WASME, who highlighted the critical role of small and medium enterprises in strengthening the EV ecosystem—from manufacturing components to enabling last-mile connectivity.
Panel Discussion: Cities in Motion
A key highlight of the day was a thought-provoking panel discussion titled “Cities in Motion: Rethinking Mobility for a Sustainable Tomorrow.” The session explored how urban mobility must evolve through smarter infrastructure, multimodal transport systems, and inclusive planning frameworks.
The discussion was moderated by Sudhendu Jyoti Sinha, Adviser (Infrastructure Connectivity), NITI Aayog.
