PM Modi's message on National Space Day
This year, on the occasion of National Space Day themed ‘Aryabhatta to Gaganyaan: Ancient Wisdom to Infinite Possibilities’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the nation made an announcement that India is on track towards building its own space station.
There is a plan to build an astronaut pool referring to astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s space mission success, PM Modi said, adding that young minds should join the initiative.
“Today, India is rapidly making progress in breakthrough technologies such as semi-cryogenic engines and electric propulsion. Our scientists are working hard to take India to the next level with Gaganyaan and soon, India will build its own space station,” NEWS 18 quoted PM Modi as saying.
August 23, 2023 went down in the annals of history with the ISRO achieving a milestone after the Chandrayaan-3 mission steered the soft landing of the Vikram Lander on the lunar surface successfully close on the heels of the deployment of the Pragyan Rover. This milestone was remarkable given India becoming the first nation to do the landing near the south pole of the moon and the fourth country to land on the moon in the world.
