13 hostages had been freed and handed over to the Red Cross – confirmed Israeli Defense Force (IDF) two weeks ago. This was the second batch of surviving hostages to be released from Khan Yunis in the Southern Gaza Strip after two years of being taken into hostages by the Hamas.
Earlier, in the first batch of living Israeli hostages seven people were released by the Islamic Resistance Movement, abbreviated the Hamas.
The two-year long Hamas and Israel war saw an end in sight with President Donald Trump brokering peace deal between Palestine and Israel agreeing to the Trump administration’s first phase of 20-point peace plan negotiated in Egypt with mediators like Qatar and Turkey.
The terms of the deal had it that all 48 living and dead hostages held in Gaza city were agreed to be returned within 72 hours of the signing the deal. Only 20 living Israeli hostages have returned on time with 13 of the 28 bodies.
Following the first phase of “peace deal” signed between the Hamas and the Israeli forces, thousand of Palestinians who had had their homes displaced due to attacks carried out by Israeli forces, withdrawing to an agreed yellow line from Gaza city post deal, retuned to their homes in Gaza.
According to media reports, the “peace deal” is at stake with Israeli forces continued strikes in Gaza strip killing at least one Palestinian, wounding several others.
Meanwhile, President Donal Trump in his TruthSocial post urged the Hamas to return the remaining “deceased bodies” of Israeli hostages immediately or face action.
