In a continued escalation for the third day, Israel and Iran exchanged munitions on Sunday with Israeli military launching a fresh bout of strikes on Irani military establishments, targeting headquarters of the Iranian Defence Ministry and the SPND nuclear project.
According to media reports, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) hit critical targets where Iranian nuclear archive was hidden.
Iranian military forces bombarded Israel’s energy infrastructure including fighter jet fuel producation facility. Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were put on high alerts with air raid sirens being sounded across the cities after Iran continued with its retaliatory strikes as a result of Israeli forces launching Operation “Rising Lion” targeting Iran’s nuclear and military sites on 13th June 2025 (Friday).
“This operation will continue for as many days as it takes to remove this threat,” a NDTV news report quoted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as saying, adding the operation was important to “roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival”.
In a first, President Donald Trump makes a public statement saying, “Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left,” in an attemt to urge Tehran to reach a deal with the US on its nuclear profliferation program.
